What Malibu Homeowners Should Know
Coastal & canyon conditions
Malibu's salt air, canyon winds, and wildfire risk shape the electrical work here. We install EV chargers, battery systems, and standby generators sized to keep essentials running during PSPS events and grid outages.
Permits through LADBS & utility is LADWP
Malibu is in the City of Los Angeles, so the utility is LADWP and permits go through the Los Angeles Department of Building & Safety (LADBS). We handle the LADWP interconnection and the permit.
Wildfire-season & PSPS backup
Malibu is a high fire-hazard area and a frequent Public Safety Power Shutoff target. A Tesla Powerwall or Generac standby generator keeps the lights, fridge, well pump, and AC running through a shutoff — we size it to your real loads.
